The CAC 40 index rose by 1% to reach 8,025 points on Monday, recovering from the three-week lows observed last week. This uptick was fueled by optimism surrounding the potential resolution of the prolonged US government shutdown, which has now extended beyond 40 days, marking it as the longest in US history. Over the weekend, the US Senate approved legislation aimed at reopening federal agencies. Concurrently, concerns regarding inflated AI valuations, which contributed to the previous week’s market decline, have eased. Leading the gains were Capgemini, Dassault Systèmes, and Société Générale, each advancing more than 2%. Additionally, Airbus gained over 1% following its subsidiary Satair's announcement of an agreement to acquire Unical Aviation, a US-based provider of used and in-service aircraft parts and components.
