In September 2025, Austria's industrial production saw a decline of 1.7% compared to the same month the previous year. This followed a 0.8% increase in August. Within this timeframe, both the industry and construction sectors experienced decreases, with industry down by 1.3% and construction plummeting by 3.1%. Examining the key industrial categories, there was a notable reduction in the production of energy (-8%), consumer durables (-8.6%), non-durables (-2.1%), and capital goods (-5.1%). However, intermediate goods bucked this trend, showing a production increase of 5.8%. When adjusted for seasonal variations on a monthly basis, industrial output decreased by 0.9%.
