In September 2025, Bulgaria's industrial production decreased by 5.5% compared to the same month in the previous year. This decline, while marking the tenth consecutive month of reduced output, shows an improvement from the revised 9.0% drop recorded in August. The moderation in the downturn can be attributed to a less severe decrease in energy production, which contracted by 23.5% compared to the 27.8% decline in August. Additionally, there were significant increases in the production of investment goods, which rose by 12.3% after a marginal decrease of 0.1%, and consumer durables, which saw a 4.5% growth rate, a slight dip from August’s 4.6%. Conversely, production continued to fall for intermediate goods, declining by 7.1% compared to August's 4.9% decrease, and consumer non-durables, which dropped by 10.8% following an 8.7% decrease in August. Seasonally adjusted figures indicate that industrial production increased by 3.3% in September, building on a revised 0.3% rise in August.
