Argentina Trade Surplus Narrows in October

In October 2025, Argentina's trade surplus decreased to USD 800 million, compared to USD 912 million in October 2024. Imports experienced a 16.9% year-on-year increase, totaling USD 7,154 million. This growth was fueled by significant rises in intermediate goods (5.7%), consumer goods (48.8%), passenger vehicles (69.2%), and capital goods (20%). In contrast, exports climbed by 13.1% to reach USD 7,954 million, driven by substantial increases in primary products (63.8%) and industrial manufacturing (8.1%), although agro-industrial manufacturing saw a decline of 3.5%. Cumulatively for the period up to October 2025, the trade surplus amounted to USD 6,846 million, a notable drop from USD 15,969 million recorded during the same timeframe in 2024.
