Portugal Consumer Confidence Remains Weak in November

Portugal's consumer confidence experienced a slight uptick on a three-month moving average, increasing to -15.2 in November from -15.9 in October. Yet, the actual reading for the month declined following two months of gains. This downturn was mainly propelled by diminished expectations regarding the country's economic prospects, households' future finances, and significant purchases. Meanwhile, perceptions of past financial situations provided a minor positive offset. Notably, views on past price trends softened after a sharp increase in October, and anticipations for future prices decreased between September and November. On a positive note, the economic climate indicator demonstrated continued strength, extending its upward trajectory since April. Confidence saw improvements in the trade, manufacturing, and construction sectors, although it diminished within the services sector.
