In October 2025, retail sales in Macedonia experienced a 3% increase compared to the same period the previous year, recovering from a 0.2% decline the month before. This represents the most substantial growth since June, driven by a notable resurgence in the sales of food, beverages, and tobacco, which surged by 7.3% following a 7.1% decrease in September. Automotive fuel sales also saw a rebound, rising by 4.3% after a 1.5% drop. Conversely, sales of non-food items diminished, showing a 1.9% decline compared to a 7.6% increase previously.
