Lithuania GDP Stalls in Q3

In the third quarter of 2025, Lithuania's economy remained stagnant on a quarterly basis, an improvement from initial projections of a 0.2% contraction, following a 0.6% growth in the previous quarter. The industrial sector witnessed a decline (-1.2% compared to 0.4% in Q2), as did agriculture, forestry, and fishing (-0.6% versus 0.4%), manufacturing (-1.0% against 0.3%), and trade-related services (-0.5% relative to 1.4%). However, these decreases were somewhat balanced by a resurgence in the construction sector, which grew by 2.0% following a prior decline of 0.6%, as well as accelerated growth in public administration and healthcare (rising from 0.1% to 1.7%), and professional and technical services (increasing from 2.1% to 3.0%). In terms of expenditure, the growth rate for household consumption slowed to 0.4% from 0.5%, and capital formation decelerated to 3.4% from 5.0%. Government expenditure experienced a decline of 0.2% after previously rising by 0.3%. Annually, GDP growth slowed to 2.0% from 3.2% in the second quarter.
