The annual inflation rate in Austria saw a slight increase, reaching 4.1% in November 2025, up from 4.0% in October, according to preliminary estimates. Significant price fluctuations were most notable in the energy sector, where prices surged by 10.9% in November, compared to a 9.4% rise in October. There was also notable price acceleration in items such as food, tobacco, and alcohol, with an increase of 4.4%, following a 4.0% rise the previous month. The service sector remained the primary driver of price increases, showing a rise of 4.5%, though slightly down from 4.6% in October. Industrial goods saw moderate price increases at a rate of 1.3%. Meanwhile, core inflation, which includes both industrial goods and services, remained steady at 3.4%, the same as in October, stated Statistics Austria Director General Manuela Lenk. On a monthly comparison, consumer prices increased by 0.4% in November, maintaining the same rate as the previous month.
