In November 2025, the HCOB Construction PMI for France increased to 43.6, up from 39.8 in October. This signifies the 42nd month in a row that the French construction sector has experienced contraction, although the severity of the downturn has diminished slightly. The reduction continues to be most pronounced in the residential construction sector, but all segments, including commercial and civil engineering, saw a lessening of decline. The demand for new projects continued to fall, marking an ongoing trend of reduced building demand lasting over three-and-a-half years, albeit at the slowest rate since March. Concurrently, companies continued to cut back on material purchases and staff numbers.
