Mauritius Inflation Rate Hits 7-Month Low of 4%

In November 2025, Mauritius experienced a further decline in its annual inflation rate, which fell to 4%, the lowest level since April. This represented a decrease from 4.1% in October and marked the fifth consecutive month of decelerating price increases. The slowdown in inflation was mainly driven by reduced price growth for alcoholic beverages and tobacco, which dropped to 8.8% from 9.6% in the previous month, and for transportation, which decreased to 2% from 3.5%. Conversely, inflation rates remained stable for sectors such as education at 6.7%, furnishings and household equipment at 4%, and clothing and footwear at 2.5%. On a month-to-month basis, the Consumer Price Index (CPI) saw a 0.3% increase in November, following a period of stagnation in the prior month.
