Costa Rica Posts Seventh Month of Deflation in November

Costa Rica experienced a 0.38% decline in consumer prices on a year-on-year basis in November 2025, maintaining the deflationary trend seen in October and marking the seventh month of consecutive deflation. Significant price decreases were observed in categories such as food and non-alcoholic beverages (-0.76%), clothing and footwear (-2.42%), furniture and household items (-1.52%), transport (-3.02%), and information and communication (-1.53%). Conversely, there were notable price increases in education (4.12%), various goods and services (1.64%), healthcare (1.21%), rent and utilities (1.13%), and recreation, sports, and culture (1.12%). On a monthly basis, consumer prices increased by 0.47%, an acceleration from the 0.19% rise recorded in October.
