US Natural Gas Stocks Falls More than Expected

During the week ending December 5, American energy companies extracted 177 billion cubic feet of natural gas from local storage facilities, bringing the total reserves to 3,746 billion cubic feet. This marked the fourth week of the withdrawal season, aligning with the previous year's schedule as the increasing cold boosts the demand for heating across the nation, which relies heavily on natural gas. Following this reduction, the natural gas storage levels were recorded at 0.7% lower than the same period last year, although they stood 2.8% above the five-year average for this time of year.
