Italy Current Account Surplus Widens Slightly

In October 2025, Italy's current account surplus experienced a modest increase, reaching €3.5 billion compared to €3.3 billion a year prior. The primary income surplus showed a significant rise, climbing to €2.2 billion from €1.1 billion in October 2024. Conversely, the surplus in the goods account decreased to €4.1 billion from €4.5 billion, and the services account deficit expanded slightly to €1.4 billion from €1.3 billion. Furthermore, the secondary income deficit grew to €1.4 billion in October 2025, up from €1.1 billion the previous year. Cumulatively, from January to October, Italy's current account surplus amounted to €28.9 billion, an increase from €25.9 billion during the same period last year.
