Malta Producer Inflation Eases in November

In November 2025, Malta experienced a 0.5% increase in producer prices compared to the same month the previous year. This represents a deceleration from the previous month's eighteen-month peak of 0.7%. The primary factor contributing to this slowdown is the persistent deflation in the prices of intermediate goods, which saw a decrease of 1.1%, compared to a 0.9% drop in October. Furthermore, the cost increments for capital goods and consumer goods have also moderated, with capital goods rising by 4.8% against 5% in the prior month and consumer goods increasing by 0.6% compared to 0.8%, specifically noting a slowdown in non-durable consumer goods (0.7% versus 0.9%). Analyzing by market, domestic price growth remained stable at 0.6%, whereas price growth for non-domestic goods decreased to 0.4% from 0.8%. On a month-to-month basis, producer prices climbed by 0.2% in November, signifying the smallest increase since June and a reduction from the 0.4% gain observed in the preceding period.
