Zambia Q3 GDP Annual Growth Lowest in a Year

Zambia's economy grew by 3.6% year-on-year in the third quarter of 2025, down from a 5.2% increase in the previous quarter. This represents the slowest growth rate since the second quarter of 2024. The deceleration was due to weaker contributions from several sectors, although key industries continued to support economic activity. The expansion was primarily driven by the information and communication sector (2.5%), transportation and storage (1.0%), agriculture, forestry, and fishing (1.0%), along with construction (0.6%). However, there was a contraction in economic output within wholesale and retail trade (-2.1%), financial and insurance activities (-0.3%), and other services (-0.2%).
