Czech Republic Inflation Rate Confirmed at 2.1%

In December 2025, the Czech Republic's annual inflation rate remained constant at 2.1%, consistent with November and in line with preliminary estimates. Notably, prices saw continued growth in several sectors: alcoholic beverages and tobacco increased to 4.1% from 4% in November, housing and utilities rose to 1.9% from 1.7%, while furnishings, household equipment, and maintenance climbed to 1.4% from 1.0%. The health sector experienced an uptick to 3.3% from 2.9%, and restaurants and hotels edged up to 4.7% from 4.6%. Miscellaneous goods and services also saw an increase to 3.5% from 3.2%. On the other hand, inflation rates eased for food and non-alcoholic beverages, declining to 1.7% from 2.2%, as well as for communication, which dropped to 0.4% from 0.5%, and recreation and culture, decreasing slightly to 3.6% from 3.7%. Educational costs stayed constant at 4.1%, while transport costs saw a downturn, moving from a 0.4% increase to a -0.2% decrease. The deflation trend continued for clothing and footwear at 2.1%. Additionally, consumer prices experienced a monthly decrease of 0.3% in December, mirroring the decline from the previous month.
