Slovakia Construction Output Growth Slows to 7-Month Low

In November 2025, Slovakia experienced a 2.4% increase in construction output compared to the previous year, a deceleration from October's 3.7% rise. This represents the slowest growth in construction since a downturn occurred in April, largely attributed to a notable decrease in domestic production, which fell by 1.0% following a 2.5% increase in October. Within domestic production, new construction declined by 2.3% compared to a 2.6% rise previously, and building activity decreased by 3.5%, down from a 6.2% gain. Conversely, the domestic sector saw a rise in repairs and maintenance work, which grew by 8.5% compared to 5.8%, and engineering construction saw a positive turnaround with a 0.6% increase following a 4.5% decline. Additionally, construction activity abroad showed a significant surge, increasing 30.5% from 13.6% the month before. On a seasonally adjusted monthly basis, construction output rose by 3.5% in November.
