In November 2025, Hungary's construction sector experienced a year-on-year decline of 5.6%, a significant shift from the 9.7% growth observed in October. This represents the most substantial decrease in three months. The downturn was primarily driven by a severe 20% slump in civil engineering projects, following a 3.7% rise in the previous month. Meanwhile, building construction growth decelerated to 7.7%, compared to 14.7% in October. On a month-to-month, seasonally adjusted basis, construction output contracted by 7.3% in November, following a 1.9% drop in October. Cumulatively, for the period from January to November, construction activity in Hungary rose by 1.6%.
