Brazil Retail Sales Rise the Most in Nearly 2 Years

In November 2025, retail sales in Brazil experienced a 1% increase compared to the previous month, building on a 0.5% rise in October and significantly surpassing market forecasts of a 0.3% rise. This marks the fastest rate of growth in nearly two years. Notably, retail turnover significantly improved in sectors such as supermarkets and food retailers (rising by 1% compared to 0% in October), furniture and household appliances (up by 2.3% from 0.3%), pharmaceutical goods (increasing by 2.2% from 0.4%), and books and stationery (up by 1.5% from 0.9%). However, sales for fuel and lubricants declined by 0.6% following a 1.7% increase previously.
