The annual inflation rate in Cape Verde surged to 3.3% in December 2025, an increase from 2.1% in November, reaching its highest point since June 2023. Additionally, inflation intensified in sectors such as hotels, restaurants, and cafés, climbing to 9.9% from 9.7%, and in the health sector, rising to 1.8% from 1.5%. In contrast, housing prices remained stable following a 0.2% decrease in November. On a month-to-month scale, the Consumer Price Index (CPI) climbed by 1.0% in December, speeding up from a 0.4% rise in the prior month, marking the most significant monthly increase since July 2022.
