In December, Taiwan's seasonally adjusted unemployment rate remained steady at 3.35%, maintaining its highest since April 2025. The number of unemployed individuals decreased by 3,000 from the previous month, totaling 398,000, the lowest figure since May 2025. Employment increased by 6,000, bringing the total workforce to 11.65 million. Among the younger demographic, specifically those aged 20–24, the unemployment rate slightly rose to 11.75% from November's 11.70%. Additionally, the labor force participation rate experienced a slight uptick to 59.59% from 59.57%, marking its peak since August 1990.
