Luxemburg Producer Deflation Deepens to 2.9%

Producer prices in Luxembourg decreased by 2.9% year-on-year in December 2025, marking the most significant decline since August 2024, after a revised 2.7% drop in the preceding month. This trend of deflation continued for the fifth month in a row, largely due to more pronounced decreases in the prices of consumer goods, which fell by 12.5% compared to a 7.47% decrease previously, and energy, which declined by 10.1% compared to a 5.51% drop earlier. Conversely, prices for intermediate goods experienced a recovery, increasing by 0.74% following a 0.26% decrease. Meanwhile, inflation for equipment goods moderated to 0.73% from the previous 2%. On a month-over-month basis, producer prices fell by 0.29%, reversing the 0.05% increase observed in November.
