Belgium Producer Deflation Persists in December

Producer prices in Belgium experienced a continued decline for the third month in a row, with a year-on-year reduction of 1.8% in December 2025. This marks the most significant decrease since October 2024, following a 1.1% fall in November. The deflation was predominantly influenced by a notable reduction in prices within the electricity, gas, steam, and air conditioning supply sector, which dropped by 6.84% after a 2.64% decrease in the preceding period. Additionally, manufacturing prices saw a slight decline of 1.49%, as compared to the previous month's 1.1% downturn. Conversely, the mining and quarrying sector experienced a modest slowdown in price increase to 1.2% from 1.38%, while inflation rates for the water supply, sewerage, waste management, and remediation sectors remained consistent at 13.45%. On a month-to-month basis, producer prices showed no change.
