US Economic Sentiment Improves to 6-Month High

The RealClearMarkets/TIPP Economic Optimism Index for the United States climbed to 48.8 in February 2026, marking the highest level since August and surpassing market expectations of 47.9. The Six-Month Economic Outlook, which gauges consumer sentiment regarding the economy's prospects over the coming half-year, increased by 1.2%, moving from 43.3 in January to 43.8 in February. Meanwhile, the Personal Financial Outlook, which assesses Americans' confidence in their personal financial situations over the next six months, experienced a 3.6% growth, rising from 54.9 in January to 56.9 in February. Additionally, the measure of Confidence in Federal Economic Policies, an exclusive RCM/TIPP metric assessing opinions on the effectiveness of government economic strategies, improved from 43.5 in January to 45.7 in February, reflecting a 5.1% gain.
