Estonia Industrial Output Growth Eases in December

In December 2025, Estonia's industrial production experienced a slight year-on-year increase of 0.2%, following a revised five-month peak of 3.3% recorded in November. The growth of manufacturing output decelerated to 0.4% compared to the previous month's 4.5%. This deceleration was largely influenced by reductions in several sectors: textiles decreased by 8.4% following a 2.5% increase, wearing apparel declined by 10.5% after a 13.8% rise, coke and refined petroleum products dropped by 22.6% compared to an 11.1% gain, basic metals fell by 7.2% after a modest 0.6% increase, and motor vehicles, trailers, and semi-trailers saw a decrease of 3.1% after an impressive 57.7% surge. Conversely, the output in mining and quarrying rose significantly to 61.9% from 10.0%. The electricity, gas, steam, and air-conditioning supply sector experienced a softer decline, reducing by 6.5% compared to an 8.7% drop. On a month-to-month basis, industrial production decreased by 1.8% in December, following a notable high of 6.0% over nearly two years in the previous period.
