FX.co ★ Slovakia Construction Output Growth Accelerates

Slovakia’s construction output surged by 11.7% year-on-year in December 2025, accelerating sharply from a 2.4% increase in November. The rebound was driven primarily by a strong recovery in domestic construction, which grew by 10.4% after contracting 1.0% in the previous month. Within this segment, new construction expanded by 10.2% (vs -2.3% in November), repairs and maintenance rose by 10.1% (vs 8.5%), and building construction advanced by 5.7% (vs -3.5%). Engineering construction also recorded robust growth, with output jumping 21.4% compared with 0.6% in November. By contrast, activity in construction abroad, while still strong, showed a deceleration, with growth easing to 23.5% from 30.5%. On a seasonally adjusted monthly basis, total construction output increased by 4% in December.
