US Futures Point to Lower Open

US stock futures moved lower on Monday, surrendering early gains and pausing after Friday’s strong rally, when the three major indices each advanced nearly 2%. S&P 500 futures slipped 0.3%, Nasdaq 100 futures fell 0.5%, and Dow Jones futures retreated by nearly 70 points.

Investors are preparing for a data-heavy week featuring key releases such as the employment report and CPI figures, which are expected to offer fresh insight into the health of the US economy, alongside ongoing corporate earnings reports. Sentiment was further dampened by reports that Chinese regulators have urged domestic financial institutions to reduce their exposure to US Treasuries, citing concerns over concentration risk and market volatility.

Technology shares came under renewed pressure, with most megacaps trading lower in premarket dealings. Nvidia slipped 1.1%, Broadcom lost 1.3%, and Alphabet declined 0.7%, while Apple, Amazon, Meta, and Tesla each fell about 0.4%. In contrast, Microsoft edged up 0.8%.
