Colombia Consumer Confidence Dips in January

Colombia’s Consumer Confidence Index slipped to 18.2% in January 2026 from 19.1% in December. The decline was largely driven by a 7.2 percentage point drop in the Economic Conditions Index, which fell to 9.7%. This reflected weaker perceptions of current household finances (13.3% vs 18.1%) and a reduced willingness to purchase durable goods (6.1% vs 14.9%).

These effects were partly offset by a 1.9 percentage point increase in the Consumer Expectations Index, which rose to 23.8%. Expectations for the national economy strengthened (17.6% vs 14.2%), as did views on the general economic outlook (13.8% vs 5.5%), although optimism regarding future household conditions moderated (40.2% vs 46.0%).
