Colombia’s economic growth decelerated in the fourth quarter of 2025, with gross domestic product expanding 2.3% year-over-year, down from a revised 3.6% increase in the third quarter of 2025. The latest GDP figures, updated on 16 February 2026, highlight a loss of momentum in the country’s economy as the year came to a close.
The year-over-year comparison shows that while Colombia remained on a growth path, the pace of activity weakened compared with the same period a year earlier, and more notably versus the third quarter’s performance. The previous reading, also measured on a year-over-year basis, had indicated a stronger expansion, underscoring a cooling trend as 2025 progressed.
The data suggest that Colombia entered the end of 2025 with softer economic dynamics, and the slowdown in Q4 will likely be closely watched by policymakers and investors assessing the sustainability of the country’s growth going into 2026.
