US Natural Gas Stocks Fall Last Week

US energy companies withdrew 144 billion cubic feet (bcf) of natural gas from storage in the week ending February 13, 2026, coming in slightly below market expectations for a 146 bcf draw. That compares with a withdrawal of 182 bcf in the same week a year earlier and a five-year average decline of 151 bcf for this period.

Total inventories fell to 2.070 trillion cubic feet, leaving stockpiles 2.8% below year-earlier levels and 5.6% beneath the five-year average. The latest drawdown follows a 249 bcf withdrawal in the previous week, as a persistent Arctic blast continued to keep much of the country in a deep freeze.
