Estonia’s Producer Prices Surge 4.3% YoY in January, Snapping Deflationary Trend

Estonia’s Producer Price Index (PPI) swung sharply higher at the start of 2026, with annual producer inflation reaching 4.3% year-over-year in January, according to data updated on 27 February 2026. This marks a notable turnaround from December 2025, when the PPI was still in negative territory at -0.5% compared with the same month a year earlier.

The figures are based on year-over-year comparisons, where the current reading reflects the change in producer prices in January 2026 relative to January 2025. The previous indicator measured December 2025 producer prices against December 2024. The move from a 0.5% annual decline to a 4.3% annual increase within a single month highlights a significant shift in cost pressures at the producer level in Estonia.
