FTSE MIB Extends Losses

The FTSE MIB slipped 0.4% to around 44,130 in early Monday trading, extending its losing streak to a fourth consecutive session as ongoing tensions in the Middle East continued to dampen risk appetite. The US-Israeli confrontation with Iran has now entered its third week with no signs of de-escalation, keeping oil prices elevated and clouding the inflation outlook.

Among individual stocks, UniCredit fell 1.5% after announcing an offer to lift its stake in Commerzbank to above 30%. Amplifon dropped more than 5%, despite unveiling plans to acquire the hearing-aid business of GN Store Nord A/S.

Other notable laggards included Snam (-1.0%), FinecoBank (-1.0%), Telecom Italia (-1.1%), Stellantis (-1.7%), and Nexi (-1.7%).
