Kyrgyzstan Industrial Output Growth at 9-Month High

Industrial production in Kyrgyzstan rose by 13.1% year-on-year in February 2026, up from 12.7% in January, marking the fastest pace of expansion since May. The acceleration was largely driven by stronger output in mining and quarrying (52.8% vs. 37.7%) and in manufacturing (12.9% vs. 12.0%), with notable gains in food and tobacco products, textiles, clothing and leather, chemicals, pharmaceuticals, machinery and equipment, and vehicles. Water supply activity also strengthened, increasing by 14.8% compared with 13.8% in the previous month. By contrast, output in electricity, gas, steam, and air conditioning supply fell by 14.6%, a sharp reversal from a 0.7% increase. Over the January–February 2026 period, overall industrial production was 15.5% higher than in the same period a year earlier.
