Turkey Consumer Morale Edges Down

Turkey’s consumer confidence index eased to 85.0 in March 2026, down from an eleven-month high of 85.7 in February, remaining below the neutral 100 mark and thus signaling continued pessimism among consumers. Expectations for households’ financial situation over the next twelve months weakened, falling to 85.6 from 86.8. Likewise, expectations for the overall economic outlook over the same period declined to 79.1 from 81.4. Intentions to purchase durable goods also softened, slipping to 102.7 from 103.2. In contrast, views on current household financial conditions improved, with the corresponding sub-index rising to 72.8 in March from 71.3 a month earlier.
