Italy’s consumer confidence index fell to 92.6 in March 2026 from 97.4 in February, reaching its lowest level since October 2023. The decline signaled a broad weakening in household sentiment, as all major components of the index moved lower. The economic climate sub-index posted the steepest drop, plunging to 88.1 from 99.1 in the previous month, underscoring rising concerns about the overall state of the economy. The future climate index also deteriorated sharply, slipping to 85.3 from 93.1. Meanwhile, the personal climate index declined to 94.2 from 96.8, and the current climate index eased to 98.0 from 100.7.
