Zambia’s annual inflation rate eased to 7.1% in March 2026 from 7.5% in February, marking the third straight month of deceleration and the lowest rate since March 2018. The slowdown reflected lower inflation in both food (7.8% vs 8.2% in February) and non-food items (5.9% vs 6.5%). On a monthly basis, the consumer price index (CPI) increased by 0.6% in March, matching the rise recorded in February.
