Oil Rises Amid Middle East Uncertainties

WTI crude oil futures climbed more than 3% to $93.50 per barrel on Thursday after President Donald Trump issued a new warning to Iran while pressing for renewed peace talks aimed at resolving the conflict that has disrupted global energy supplies. Fighting remains active across the Middle East, and Trump has urged Tehran to engage seriously in negotiations “before it is too late.” The White House maintains that dialogue is continuing, even as Iran has dismissed current proposals and set out its own terms.

At the same time, reports indicate that Iran’s parliament is drafting legislation to impose fees on ships transiting the Strait of Hormuz, requiring vessels to provide detailed clearance information as part of new security measures. Trump has reiterated that talks are in progress and has expressed hope that the conflict can be brought to an end soon. Nonetheless, tensions remain high, with the Pentagon reportedly deploying additional forces to the region, underscoring the persistent strain between diplomatic efforts and military posturing.
