Ireland’s seasonally adjusted unemployment rate rose to 4.7% in March 2026, up from 4.6% in February and 4.5% in March 2025. The number of people unemployed increased to 140,000, an uptick of 1,100 compared with the previous month. By gender, female unemployment climbed by 2,100 to 66,100, while male unemployment declined by 1,000 to 73,900. Among young people aged 15–24, the unemployment rate inched up to 12.5% from 12.4% in February. For those aged 25–74, the rate was unchanged at 3.5%.
