Mexico’s manufacturing business confidence index slipped by 0.5 points to 47.8 in March 2026, its lowest level since March 2021, and remained below the 50-point neutral mark for a 13th consecutive month. Willingness to invest declined to 34.0 (–0.7), while expectations for the national economy fell to 51.5 (–0.6) and company outlooks eased to 55.5 (–0.3). Assessments of current national conditions also edged down to 47.9 (–0.2), and evaluations of firms’ present situation softened to 50.3 (–0.2).
