Mexico Consumer Confidence Edges Down in March

Mexico’s consumer confidence index slipped to 44.1 in March 2026 from 44.4 in February, signaling a more pessimistic view of the country’s economic outlook. Assessments of current national economic conditions weakened (38.8 vs. 40.0), and consumers reported a reduced capacity to purchase durable goods (29.1 vs. 30.3). Expectations for the broader economy were unchanged at 45.1. In contrast, perceptions of the overall household situation improved slightly (51.0 vs. 50.8), as did expectations regarding future household conditions (56.7 vs. 56.2).
