Brazil’s auto production climbed 27.6% in March 2026 from February, surpassing 264,000 units and delivering the strongest monthly output since October 2019, before the Covid-19 pandemic. In the first quarter, production neared 635,000 units, a 6% increase over the same period in 2025. Growth was led by passenger vehicles, supported by the arrival of new brands and model launches.
Electrified vehicles recorded particularly robust growth, with nearly 100,000 units registered by the end of March—almost double the volume seen in the first quarter of 2025. Exports totaled 40,400 units, narrowing the year-over-year decline for the first quarter to 18.5%. New car registrations also advanced, achieving their strongest March performance since 2013.
