DAX at Near 1-Week High

Frankfurt’s DAX 40 closed about 1.3% higher at 24,044 on Tuesday, marking a near one‑week high, as renewed optimism over a possible resolution to the Middle East conflict lifted sentiment. According to sources, US and Iranian negotiating teams could return to Islamabad for peace talks as early as this week. At the same time, both Saudi Arabia and China have voiced opposition to the US blockade of Iranian ports that began on Monday, raising questions about how sustainable the measures will be.

Investors also focused on a fresh round of quarterly earnings from both sides of the Atlantic. Most sectors finished in positive territory, with banks, technology, and industrials among the strongest performers. Siemens led the benchmark, advancing more than 4%. Other notable gainers included Deutsche Bank, Infineon Technologies, Volkswagen, MTU Aero Engines, Merck, and Siemens Energy, each adding between 2.9% and 3.9%.

On the downside, BASF and Brenntag were the session’s weakest performers, shedding 1.7% and 1.6%, respectively.
