US Futures Edge Higher After Record Rally

US stock futures inched higher on Thursday, following a record-setting session for both the S&P 500 and the Nasdaq Composite, as renewed optimism over US-Iran negotiations and the potential for a broader peace agreement buoyed sentiment. On Wednesday, the S&P 500 rose 0.8%, while the Nasdaq Composite jumped 1.59%, with the latter posting its strongest 11-session advance on record amid a tech-led rally. By contrast, the Dow Jones Industrial Average slipped 0.15%. Sector gains were concentrated in technology, consumer discretionary, and communication services, whereas materials, industrials, and utilities lagged. Looking ahead, investors are focused on a fresh batch of corporate earnings due Thursday, including results from Netflix, PepsiCo, and Charles Schwab. On the macroeconomic front, markets will be watching weekly jobless claims as well as March figures for capacity utilization and industrial production.
