Kyrgyzstan Industrial Output Growth Hit 1-Year High

Industrial production in Kyrgyzstan rose by 17.4% year-on-year in March 2026, accelerating from 13.1% in February and marking the strongest increase since March 2025. The upturn was largely driven by robust growth in manufacturing output, which expanded by 22.3% (up from 12.9% in February). Within manufacturing, notable gains were recorded in the production of food, beverages and tobacco, wood and paper products, basic metals and fabricated metal products, as well as machinery, equipment, and vehicles.

At the same time, the decline in electricity, gas, steam, and air conditioning supply eased significantly, with output contracting by 4.1% compared with a 14.6% drop in February. By contrast, growth slowed sharply in mining and quarrying (10.2% vs 52.8% in February) and in water supply, sewerage, waste management, and remediation activities (7.3% vs 14.8%). Over the first quarter of 2026, industrial output was 14.0% higher than in the same period a year earlier.
