Poland Corporate Wage Growth Exceeds Estimates

In March 2026, average wages in Poland’s corporate sector rose by 6.6% year-on-year to PLN 9,652.19, surpassing market expectations of 6.3% and accelerating from the 6.1% growth recorded in each of the previous two months. Wage increases were observed across several key sectors, including mining and quarrying (6.7%), manufacturing (6.6%), agriculture, forestry, and fishing (2.5%), as well as electricity, gas, steam, and air conditioning supply (11.6%).

On a monthly basis, the average gross salary jumped 5.7%, compared with a 1.5% rise in February. This sharp increase was largely driven by higher additional payments, including bonuses and awards such as quarterly and annual bonuses, Easter payments, discretionary payouts, and broad-based wage hikes. Over the year to date, wages in the corporate sector have increased by 6.2%.
