Croatia’s registered unemployment rate declined to 4.3% in March 2026 from 4.7% in February, reaching its lowest level since October 2025. The number of unemployed persons fell by 9.6% on a monthly basis to 75.9 thousand, including 40.3 thousand women. At the same time, employment rose by 0.3% to 1.698 million, while the labor force edged down by 0.2% to 1.774 million.
Paid employment in legal entities increased by 0.1%, supported by gains in several sectors: mining and quarrying (0.9%), manufacturing (0.4%), construction (0.7%), transportation (0.1%), financial and insurance activities (0.2%), real estate activities (0.1%), professional, scientific and technical activities (0.8%), public administration and defence; compulsory social security (0.2%), education (0.5%), and human health and social work activities (0.3%).
