Slovenia Retail Sales Rebound to 3½-Year High

Retail sales in Slovenia returned to growth in March 2026, rising 4.6% year-on-year after a downwardly revised 2.7% decline in February. This was the strongest increase in retail activity since September 2022, driven by a marked rebound in sales of non-food products (up 3.8% vs. down 0.8% in February) and automotive fuel in specialized stores (up 18.5% vs. down 7.3%). Meanwhile, sales of food, beverages, and tobacco continued to fall, but at a much slower pace (-0.1% vs. -4.1%). On a seasonally adjusted monthly basis, retail trade rose 4.2% in March, the highest reading in nearly four years, following a downwardly revised 1.5% decline in the previous month.
