Belgium’s economy grew by 0.2% quarter-on-quarter in the first three months of 2026, matching market expectations and slightly exceeding the 0.1% increase recorded in the previous quarter, according to preliminary estimates. The expansion was supported by a 0.4% rise in construction activity and a 0.3% increase in the services sector, while industrial output edged down by 0.1%. On an annual basis, GDP increased by 0.8%, the slowest pace of growth since the first quarter of 2021, following a revised 0.9% rise in the preceding quarter.
