Silver Bulls Edge Higher as CFTC Net Long Positions Tick Up

Speculative interest in silver futures rose slightly in the latest reporting period, according to U.S. Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC) data updated on 01 May 2026.

Net speculative positions in silver increased to 24.2K contracts, up from 23.7K previously. The uptick signals a modest strengthening in bullish sentiment among traders, as net long positions widened compared with the prior reading.

While the move is incremental, the rise in net longs suggests that market participants are maintaining, and marginally adding to, their positive outlook on silver in the current environment.
