Canada’s economy showed signs of stabilization in early 2026, as the annualized GDP contraction slowed markedly in the first quarter. The indicator registered a -0.1% change on a quarter-over-quarter annualized basis, a significant improvement from the -1.0% decline recorded in the fourth quarter of 2025.
